In the fall of 1994 (Season 3), Dutch Dixon caught up with Reno, who then went on trail for the murder Dixon had originally pinned on him at the start of the series (Dutch Dixon is the corrupt cop hunting Reno down. It was he who had murdered the cop Reno had been framed for killing, and he had also been responsible for the fatal shooting of Reno's fiancee.)
Sleazy Hound Adams was set to testify with evidence that would have exonerated Reno and pinned the crime on Dixon, but Adams doubled-crossed our hero and Reno was convicted of murder with special circumstances. While being transferred from one prison to another Reno escaped and resumed bounty hunting for Bobby and his search for Adams or other evidence to prove his innocence.
